Esther has been working in the accounting field for over a decade, before deciding to obtain a Diploma in Fine Art from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore in her thirties.

Esther Ngo received a 5 years Long Service Award for Voluntary Work by Singapore National Council of Social Service in 2012. She has participated in the SG50 Mural “Singapore’s Tapestry of Life” for Marina South Pier MRT Station, Land Transport Authority of Singapore in 2015; “The Last Call”, an exhibition on palliative care in Singapore General Hospital in 2016 and “Fine Art WIP Show”, at On Air Gallery, NAFA, Singapore in 2017.

Her practice revolves around the concept of life’s struggles, triggering a torrential flow of emotions that can be released and expressed through Chinese Ink Painting as a form of meditation and self-cultivation. She attempts to give expression to her abstract paintings using her own ideas and feelings about creating positivity and optimism out of life’s adversity.

Inspired by Zen and Mahayana Buddhism, which advocates living in the present, She strives to meet five epitomai; “Faith, Vigour, Mindfulness, Concentration and Wisdom” through her art practice, that has nourished her soul.
